ADMISSION DEPARTMENT
Admission Department is the subdivision of City Maternity Hospital No.2. It consists of two admission wards – an obstetrics ward and a gynecology ward.
The staff of the department is responsible for patients’ health and life. They guarantee diligent and humane treatment of the patients.
The core activities of the department are:
- to triage patients;
- to register patients; to record the admitted patients, the patients who received inpatient care and the patients who were refused hospitalization;
- to sort out the patients according to the severity of the condition and life-threatening conditions;
- to examine and screen the patients, who visit the admission department;
- to carry out laboratory tests and clinical investigations, to provide, if necessary, urgent consultations by medical specialists or members of the academic department of obstetrics and gynecology;
- to examine and provide medical care to the patients who visited the admission department but do not need inpatient care;
- to provide medical care to urgent patients, including intensive care and to transfer of the patients to specialized departments;
- to provide outpatient care to the patients who visit the hospital themselves;
- to execute and keep the medical record according to the approved procedure;
- to execute the hospital admission refusal documents, including a standard certificate of staying in the admission department of City Maternity Hospital No.2;
- to verify the grounds of inpatient care referrals and correctness of hospital admission referrals;
- to cooperate with other healthcare institutions of the city;
- to maintain the department ready for emergency situations, i.e. mass admission to hospital, fire, mine laying, and for the detection of patients with quarantine infections and highly infectious diseases.
